When I Said I Love Men in Ties, This Is Not What I Had In Mind

Men look hot in ties. I know they're uncomfortable, but they look so good!  And don't even get me started on the one-button-undo,knot-loosening gesture. As a guy I know from Queens says, forget it. I'm on the floor, drooling.

But...I saw this in my local shopping center, the one I can't afford to shop in. (I was walking through to avoid walking around the block.) Is this really what men are wearing Stateside these days? Nooooo...not a good look. I say this with love: this is ridiculous. No men, NO.

  1. mmmkay I'm in Montreal, fashion central, and I've never seen that at all the concerts I've photographed at which everyone is almost 20 years younger than me....
    Bizarre.

  2. That's sexy. Here in Maine everyone is in LLBean so I have no idea what's trendy these days, but THAT? Looks like something a clown would wear and clowns scare me.

  3. Ummm..not such a good look. In my 20s my first instinct out of a meeting would be to loosen the tie knot. Now, though, I keep the tie on through the day. Ladies like!

  6. LOL! I love hubby in a tie, but I love the look that the lead singer of Maroon 5 has in a skinny tie and suit. Now that's hot.

  8. I haven't seen any of these ties here in the states, but it's been a little too CALIENTE on South Beach to wear a tie. That's the only place in Miami you'd probably see them by the dozens if the weather was right.

I'm with you...guys in ties are sexy. The ones that look like Richard Gere in Pretty Woman, not the ones that look like A Flock of Seagulls 20 years later!

  9. >I know they're uncomfortable,

Not if you're wearing a properly fitting shirt (collar in particular) and properly tied tie.

For fat guys like me, getting a "tall" tie helps too since you can tie a proper knot and not have it come up short due to your protuding girth.

  10. I just bought one of those for my work clothing. Ah I guess I should return it, haha. Seriously, I don't think they'd even sell them at Urban Outfitters.
